It ended up being a really fun spoof of a modern day Dracula tale. Okay for arguments sake, I will forgive the fact that his name is Alaric, and Vampire Diaries got there first, Meg Cabot might have just liked the name. The pacing of the second half of the book was very good. I loved every bit of it, the characters, and how well Meg brought them to life as well.
Sorry not sorry Dimitri. I’m not a hater, and was really looking forward to this one, a semi-satire about vampire obsession set in NYC among celebs and soap operas. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Though she never tells her about it, she does give Yalena her card and tells her to call no matter what. She cannot sense his death. Just the name alone is enough to intrigue one to look beyond the beautifully designed cover, but once you do; you’ll be glad you did.
Why do more people have to continue jumping on the vampire love train? A complete prince charming when he wants to be.
But I soon came to see the truth; that either way this story is still crap. Fortunately she grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, where few people were aware of the stigma of being a fire horse — at least until Meg became a teenager, when she flun Librarian note: Women are From Venus.
She manages to do so pretty successfully, offering a book that has enough action and romance to hook the usual vampire fan, and also enough humor and parody to get a few good chuckles out of people sick to death of Twilight and its like. Her seemless writing and delightfully seductive storyline entices the reader to gallop through the pages with unabashed and unbridled abandon.
I did lots of these during Cabot’s vampire novel. You are commenting using your Twitter account.
I find the mythology captivating. Scully eloquently captured this idea in Verland: But, I hear there will be a sequel to it. You had permission to bite her during the sexing it up as it occurred before she knew that Lucien was of the undead lover variety but not to drink ccabot blood. But still not my cup of tea.
Insatiable by Meg Cabot : Book Review
You know, I had this whole elaborate take down prepared, this entire thing lined up where I’d disparage this blow by blow. Meena Harper is a not-so-ordinary girl living in NYC working as cbaot writer on a television show named Insatiable. I will really be looking forward to the next book.
He was supposed to be this tragic hero, torn between his bestial ineatiable and true love, but in the end he reminded me more of a stalker with anger management issues. He thinks so highly of himself and his money and his silk bath robe. I’ve tried talking myself into finishing this book but it lacks that spark of excitement that I usually get from reading an Urban Fantasy or Paranormal Romance.
If she survives long enough to avoid the Palantine vampire hunting guard hammering at her door, not to the mention hordes of killer bats on the loose, will she lose her own soul in the process?
Enter our heroine, Meena Harper; writer for a daytime soap opera and the woman who knows how insariable will eventually meet your demise. I was able jnsatiable read and enjoy the story and all the connecting characters on a level that wasn’t there previously. I like the idea of a vampire with a haunted past. To make matter’s worse, her recently unemployed brother is squatting in her apartment and her annoying neighbor Mary Lou seems to be stalking her at the elevators.
She can defend herself unsatiable she is obsessed with her job which is writing dialogues for a popular tv show. But more importantly, Cabt loved the way Alaric’s scenes sizzled with Meena; inswtiable much that I could practically hear them crackle and pop.
Do I suddenly find that his character is original and capitivating? So caring and kind and apparently eco-friendly is this guy, that in the midst of a fight with said evil brother he must then pick up some piece of trash that had fallen on the ground to properly dispose of it. The insatkable sounded good, the quote on the back which I mentioned before, in my Library post had me laughing. What was I thinking?! Meena is much more self-sufficient than Bella: She’s always had a hard time seeing a future with any of the men in her life, until him.
It is this randomness they bludgeon us with and expect us not to care.
Now might be a good time for Meena to start learning to predict her own future. As a matter of fact the entire book go Never judge a book by its cover.
Thank you for reading this review! D Anyway, like I said, Meena makes cahot stand against Lucien’s behavior and makes some tough decisions about her love life and career. Lucien Goody-Two-Shoes has been in a battle with his evil of course little brother for eons over the fate of humanity.
Never knsatiable a book by its cover. Just when you think you can’t take another vampire book, she throws something a little different into the mix. Lucien, this prince of darkness, this evil soulless vampire is more caring and considerate than that, and so has to stop it.
